This was a piece made by the abstract filmmaker Oskar Fischinger in 1926.

I love Fischinger's work. He is a pioneer of geometric animation and abstract "trippy" visuals - and did it all with physical media like paper cut-outs on fishing lines, charcoal drawings, or wax!
